In 1988 the Kennel Club awarded Championship status to Otterhounds, the first time since 1912. Ch Boravin Peeler, who had BoB at two consecutive Otterhound Club shows prior to 1988, proved his worth by becoming the first modern Otterhound Champion winning his third Challenge Certificate at Paignton that year. |

Peeler’s half-sister, CH Boravin Oakleaf won the very first bitch Challenge Certificate and BoB at Crufts 1988. She appeared on the front cover of the Kennel Gazette that year and featured in the Crufts Calendar for 1989. |

Oakleaf had produced a litter for Jean Pretious before she came to us (aged 3) and one of that litter, Boravin Quail, became a Champion. We mated Oakleaf with Ch Ottersdream Protector (who had won the first dog Challenge Certificate at Crufts 1988) and she produced 12 puppies: |
